What is her role in CVMTA?

Emma is the Vice President of the Creston Valley Music Teachers’ Association. She also volunteers on the Festival of the Arts Committee, and supports fellow CVMTA members with group events such as recitals, Focus on Youth, and the CVMTA’s annual Teachers’ “Tapestry” Concert.

What does she teach?

Piano, violin, ukulele and music theory.

About?

Emma Penner is currently attending the University of British Columbia for a dual degree of a Bachelor of Music (majoring in piano) and a Bachelor of Education. She teaches primarily online from September until April, and in-person in Creston through the summer.

She has been been teaching piano, classical violin (and fiddle) for 8+ years and also teaches music theory and ukulele. She uses the Royal Conservatory of Music syllabus, along with the Suzuki method (for violin), and includes folk and popular music in each student’s unique curriculum.
